Wood is the most popular method of home construction in America, and that has been because wood was the lowest cost. This has resulted in a "Tradition" of continuing to build with wood, despite continuing escalation of lumber prices! Today we pay premium prices for "Forest Products" made from saw dust and wood chips previously considered scrap!
In the past Lumbering was a booming business. Today we can hardly find a Large 6' Diameter tree & just try to get a Permit to cut it down! We need New processes for tomorrow!
Other "processes" exist, examples include slump block, brick & mortar and fringe systems such as straw bales or shredded tires. But these systems often involve higher Labor costs!
